"Drop" is the part of the quilt that hangs over the edge of the mattress.
"Tuck" is the part of the quilt that folds under the pillow.

Yardage for Quilt Backs

Directions:

The quilt sizes found on this page are taken from the sample

quilt sizes chart on page above. Yardages for the quilt

backing charts are based on 40" of usable fabric width and

1/2" seam allowances. The layouts have been chosen so

there is at least 2" extra backing around all four side of the

quilt top and an extra 1/4 yard has been added to all yardages.

NOTE: Layouts A and B will generally be used for crib quilts,

wallhangings, etc. Determine the final width and length of your

quilt, add 4" to both width and length and choose the layout

based on that. For Layout A the yardage needed will be the

quilt length; for Layout B the yardage needed will be the quilt

width multipled by 2.
